ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – President Biden has declared a Major Disaster Declaration for the village of Kwigillingok Friday, for the areas affected by severe storm and flooding destruction from Aug. 15-18, 2024.
This immediately activates FEMA’s Public Assistance federal funding for the local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis that had significant damage.
FEMA says there is a pending request for Individual Assistance that would help local citizens, but a decision has yet to be made on it.
