DANBURY, CT — A sign on the restaurant in the front door of Barbarie’s Black Angus Grill in town advises that the restaurant is “closed until further notice.”
The sign appeared Saturday on the eatery at 5 Eagle Road in Danbury, and places the blame for the closure on a water pipe that burst due to inclement weather.
“We are attempting to restore the water as quickly as possible but we are temporarily closed until further notice,” the sign read in part.
The shutdown comes less than a month after the restaurant voluntarily closed for 24 hours in the wake of an outbreak of norovirus. Although the majority of people affected in the outbreak had eaten at the popular steakhouse shortly before getting sick, there were others infected who had not. Neither was there any confirmation that food was actually the source of the sickness. City health inspectors gave the restaurant the “all clear” prior to its reopening.
