BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Fireplace ashes that weren’t properly disposed of caused a Branford house fire on Thursday morning, according to the fire department.
A neighbor called to report the fire at about 10 a.m. after seeing flames and smoke coming from the Flat Rock Road home.

All occupants were able to get out safely.
