Recent Death Notices From Fairfield: Wallischeck, Lebinski & Franchini

FAIRFIELD, CT — Below are recent obituaries from Fairfield:

Barbara Ann (Kovacs) Wallischeck, 90, passed away on Feb. 23, 2025; a career executive secretary, she enjoyed gardening, reading, sailing on Long Island Sound, classical music, and traveling to Europe, especially Germany and Ireland.

Mary Lebinski, 85, passed away on Feb. 19, 2025; a dedicated dental assistant and treasurer of the Connecticut Dental Association, she enjoyed time with family and friends, especially on the beaches of Cape Cod.

Joan E. Franchini, 85, passed away on Feb. 12, 2025; a dedicated community volunteer and Sunday school teacher, she was an avid gardener, amateur artist, music and dance enthusiast, and lifelong animal lover.

Susan (Sue) Dora Mester, age 77, passed away on Feb. 11, 2025; a dedicated labor and delivery nurse and private duty caregiver, she was also deeply involved in Drum and Bugle Corps and Park City Pride alumni corps, and an active member of St. Ann Church.

James R. (Jim) McIntosh, age 78, passed away on Feb. 8, 2025; a dedicated educator in the Stamford school system, he was an active parish volunteer, an avid UConn basketball fan, a passionate gardener and painter, and enjoyed fishing, softball, and trips to Saratoga Springs.

Diane Juke, 91, passed away on Feb. 5, 2025; a former General Electric employee, she later directed the RSVP Program in Bridgeport, taught art classes, and was an accomplished painter who enjoyed traveling and living near the water.
