WILMINGTON — Delaware Technical Community College will recognize Wilmington native Logan Herring at its annual Black History Month Honoree Celebration Feb. 20 at noon at the College’s Orlando J. George Jr. Campus.

Mr. Herring is the CEO of The WRK Group, including The Warehouse, REACH Riverside, and Kingswood Community Center.

Raised in Wilmington’s West Center City neighborhood, Mr. Herring started his work in the Riverside neighborhood of Wilmington in 2016 as the executive director for Kingswood Community.

In 2018, The WRK Group was created to accelerate the redevelopment of the Riverside community and surrounding areas of northeast Wilmington. The WRK Group leverages the unique assets and expertise of each of its organizations.

Mr. Herring holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Goucher College and a certificate in Non-Profit Leadership from Boston College.

Among his accomplishments, Mr. Herring was recognized as one of the Most Impactful Leaders in the First State by the Delaware Business Times in 2023. He was also named among Delaware Online’s Most Influential Delawareans in 2021 and 2022, and as Delaware Business Times’ 2021 Large Non-Profit CEO of the Year.

Mr. Herring currently sits on the Board of Governors for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Committee for Longwood Gardens, and the Advancement Committee for Sanford School.

Since 1998, Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton and George Campuses have been celebrating Black History Month by honoring a member of the New Castle County community for his/her outstanding personal and professional achievements.

“The College selects individuals who have made significant contributions to the community and have made an impact on improving the quality of life throughout the State. We are so proud to be recognizing Logan Herring as this year’s honoree,” said Dr. Lora Johnson, vice president and campus director for Delaware Tech’s Wilmington campus.
