Feeling hungry but don’t want to cook? Here’s what’s open on Thanksgiving Day in eastern Idaho

IDAHO FALLS — Did you leave your turkey in the oven for too long, or did you just not feel like cooking this year?

EastIdahoNews.com has compiled a list of places open on Thanksgiving Day, so you won’t have to worry about what you’ll eat. 

Idaho Falls: 

The Sandpiper Restaurant: The business will be open on Thanksgiving from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. They will be offering a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and their regular menu will be available. It’s very busy on this day and reservations are recommended. Call (208) 524-3344 to make a reservation. 

Redd’s Grill: The grill will be having its 5th annual Thanksgiving buffet on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu will include traditional Thanksgiving items like roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls and more. There will also be a deluxe salad bar with a giant dessert table. Adults (12-56) will cost $38, seniors (57+) will cost $28, children (5-11) will cost $12, and children four and under eat free.

Black Bear Diner: The diner will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will serve prime rib, ham, and turkey for Thanksgiving. 

The Salvation Army: On Thanksgiving Day, the Elks Lodge, located at 640 East Elva Street in Idaho Falls, will host a free community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Delivery is also available on a first-come-first-serve basis by calling (208) 522-7200. 

Jakers Bar & Grill: The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will serve its full menu, including turkey specials. Call (208) 524-5240 to make a reservation.

The Bee’s Knees Pub & Catering Co.: There will be a Thanksgiving buffet on Thanksgiving Day in the newly remodeled ballroom at the restaurant location. There will be roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham, sweet potatoes, creamed corn, cranberries, pie, and more. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults (11-56) will cost $38, seniors (57+) will cost $28, children (5-10) will cost $12, and four and under will cost $7.99. Call (208) 524-1669 to make a reservation. 

Or, if you would rather, the restaurant will have a Thanksgiving “take and bake” option. You must preorder by Nov. 26. It costs $185 to serve 4 to 6 people and $32 for a single. 

Tchê Brazilian Grill: The grill will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. They are currently running Holiday specials, including chicken hearts, clam chowder, and pineapple ham rice. On Thanksgiving Day, they will offer a skewer of glazed ham and bacon-wrapped turkey. Book reservations online here. 

Roadhouse Saloon: The bar and grill will be doing a potluck dinner starting at 2 p.m. on the holiday. The business provides turkey and ham. There will be karaoke later.

Ammon:

Chuck-A-Rama Buffet: Thanksgiving dinner with the fixings will be served all day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults cost $29.99, seniors $27.99, and children (4-11) cost $2 per year. For example, a 5-year-old would be $10. 

Pocatello: 

Jakers Bar & Grill: The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and serve turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and more. Call (208) 478-2000 to make a reservation. 

The Sandpiper Restaurant: The business will open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and offer Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. They will also be offering their regular menu. Reservations are encouraged since there will be limited walk-in space. Call (208) 233-1000.

Idaho Coffee Company: The business will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 2806 South 5th Avenue. Come get some coffee!

Jeri’s Jumbo’s Cafe: There will be heat and serve meals to pick up before Thanksgiving Day as the cafe will be closed on the holiday. Family orders must be put in by Nov. 25 and individual orders by Nov. 26. Pick-up is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. the day before Thanksgiving. It’s $30 to feed 1 to 2 people and $125 to feed 4 to 5 people. There’s turkey roast, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted turkey gravy, cornbread stuffing, pumpkin dump cake, and more. Señor Garcia’s Puerto Vallarta: There will be a free Thanksgiving luncheon on the holiday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1600 Pocatello Creek Road. Food offered will consist of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, yams, cranberry sauce, rolls and pumpkin pie.

Chubbuck:

Idaho Coffee Company: The business says it loves to see everyone’s faces on Thanksgiving Day. It will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 322 East Chubbuck Road. 

Fort Hall:

Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel: Join in for a feast to remember! There will be a Thanksgiving spread on the holiday at the Painted Horse Buffet from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults cost $35, children are $25 and ages 3 and under are free. No reservations will be taken. It will be a first-come first-served basis. 

There will be turkey, ham, prime rib, seafood entrees, a pasta bar, bread assortments, pie and more. 

Blackfoot:

Community Dinner Table & Food Pantry: Come hungry and leave full! On Thanksgiving Day, there will be a free Thanksgiving meal from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Blackfoot, 168 South University Avenue. 

St. Anthony: 

The Lions Club will be having its 26th annual free Thanksgiving Day dinner on Nov. 28. It will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Fremont Junior High School. There will be ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, rolls, pies and more. There is also a takeout option if people can’t attend in person. Rexburg:

Denny’s: It will be open 24 hours a day and will serve seasonal options such as turkey.
