MISSOULA, Mont. — A Missoula bakery is ending a 27-year run at the end of August.

Black Cat Bake Shop announced Tuesday evening on social media that the bakery would close its doors Aug. 31.

The business posted the following: “We are saddened to announce that Black Cat Bake Shop will be permanently closing its doors Saturday August 31st. We want to thank the Missoula Community for giving us an amazing 27 years of unwavering support. This decision has not come easy to the family but with Christy’s untimely passing in December 2022 and Jacks retirement, we feel it is best for the company to retire as well. We will continue to operate under our normal business hours until the 31st.”
