HIGH POINT — Black-owned businesses in the greater High Point area will be highlighted Tuesday during “The Black Wall Street of Greater High Point,” a program being hosted by the Women’s Resource Center of YWCA High Point.
The program, being held in conjunction with Black History Month, will be presented from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the YWCA, 155 W. Westwood Ave.
Attendees will have the opportunity to discover — or rediscover — the range of Black-owned businesses contributing to the economic and cultural fabric of the High Point area, said Pam Horn, a spokesperson for the event. Featured businesses include Thrive with Coach Candice, The McKiever Group, Sherri Conner Real Estate, Dr. Benita Varnado, Just Fitness, Pursuit of Life Counseling and Wellness, insurance broker LaTonya Shaw, and many more.
“We want to shine a light on the African American / Black businesses in the High Point area to showcase the contributions that Black businesses provide to the community,” Horn said.
The event is free and open to the public.
