FARGO — A break-in early Monday morning, Jan. 13, left several small businesses with significant losses.
The burglary was at a strip mall on 23rd Street South, behind OK Tire on Main Avenue. Surveillance footage shows the break-in happening around 4:30 a.m.
Business owners reported thousands of dollars stolen from registers and safes. One shop, which sells cell phones and accessories, lost its entire inventory of phones. At least one business in the mall was unharmed.
“God sees everything that we do in life. Especially when you want to harm somebody. Like you’re harming somebody by destroying their business, you destroy their life,” said Santina Minimila, assistant manager at Mila African Market, one of the affected businesses.
The business owners say the theft has jeopardized their livelihoods, as insurance will not fully cover the damages and losses.
Authorities have not yet identified the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
