PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people and their dogs were rescued early Thursday morning as rising flood water trapped them in their tents, officials said.
Crews from Eugene Springfield Fire said they responded to the Oak Patch overpass at the Fern Ridge path where fast-moving water from the recent storm had trapped people and their dogs underneath.
One person was able to get out by themself, but two others and their dogs were trapped inside the tents, authorities said.
Using a ladder, crews were able to get down into the slough and help the people and their dogs out of the water before it overtook them.
There were no injuries, authorities said.
