PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities are searching for a suspect after a car was stolen from a Camas neighborhood and several cars were prowled on Christmas morning.
According to Camas Police Department, the crimes occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. when a dark gray Mazda CX3 with Washington license plate BSD5165 was stolen from the Woodburn Neighborhood then used to drive around the area to prowl other vehicles.
Camas police said the suspect stole a variety of items from seven vehicles, including garage door openers, a gift card, cash, and a cell phone.

The suspect was seen on security footage wearing a dark colored beanie, a black hooded sweatshirt with white stripes on the shoulders and arms, light gray pants, and bright orange or red shoes with black laces, police said.
Anyone who sees the suspect or the car with someone inside is asked to call 911. Anyone who sees the car unoccupied is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 311.
Tips on the case can be directed to Camas police, who remind community members to remove items from vehicles, lock cars, and report any activity where it appears as if unfamiliar people are trying to access vehicles.
