Mark Fisher, one of the founder of the Rhode Island, New York chapter of the Black Lives Matter movement has released a video saying he will be voting for Donald Trump. Fisher, who has been a lifelong Democrat, said a in a video shared with the New York Post that he will be putting his weight behind the Trump-led Republican Party this election.

“I’ve been a lifelong Democrat, Fisher said. I voted for Biden in 2020, which I do regret now. I come from a family of Democrats. I just felt like, after 60 years, our ghetto still shouldn’t look like a bomb was dropped on it.

Who Is Mark Fisher?

Mark Fisher describes himself as a community leader with over 10 years of experience, on his LinkedIn profile. He studied Theology at the Northpoint Bible School after graduating from Prospect Hall School of Business. He is currently the founder and executive director of BLM Incorporated – the Rhode Island chapter of the BLM movement, during the BLM movement after George Floyd’s murder.

In 2023, a video of Fisher went viral where he was seen coming out in support of a Proud Boys rally. Proud Boys was a far-right group formed in 2016 and supports Donald Trump. They played an instrumental role in the January 6 insurrection at Capitol Hill in 2021 when supporters of Donald Trump stormed Capitol Hill to prevent Congress from certifying the 2020 election results.

Fisher, in a video interview from the site of the rally, said that he believed that some of the people convicted about the January 6 insurrection were political prisoners.

Here’s the video:

What Else Did Mark Fisher Say?

Mark Fisher hit out at the Democrat saying that the black people have been blindly supporting the party for decades now. He claimed that people were doing “much better” during the Trump presidency.

“For so long, we’ve just been blindly loyal to the Democratic Party for no reason” FIsher said in the video shared with Post. “They have given us no reason to have such loyalty and to maintain such loyalty to them.

“And many people were doing a lot better under Donald Trump. He implemented opportunity zones for the black community, where it was tax incentive based, and it was incentivized investments into the black neighborhoods, which is what we needed to revitalize our dying economy.”
