Sanctuary City Mayors Say Pro-Immigrant Policies Reduced Crime

The Democratic mayors of Boston, Chicago, Denver and New York City said Wednesday their policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities have been key to lowering crime.

The so-called sanctuary city officials said in testimonies before Congress that Republicans were exaggerating the threat of undocumented immigrants, because recent surges in migrants corresponded with decreases in violence.
