Ocean View Missionary Baptist Association Young Adult Department hosted its inaugural Black Business Expo on Feb. 1 at Brunswick Community College in the Virginia Williamson Events Center. The Expo was a huge success, with 22 registered vendors.
Ocean View Missionary Baptist Association Young Adult Department hosted its inaugural Black Business Expo on Feb. 1 at Brunswick Community College in the Virginia Williamson Events Center. The Expo was a huge success, with 22 registered vendors.
Participating vendors included real estate agents, auto mechanic shops, vehicle towing, jewelry consultants, caterers, marketing consultants, transportation company, TV streaming distributor, and construction companies. Each business was given an opportunity to showcase their products and/or services during the event and door prizes were given away. Kristin Dowdy of State Farm of Shallotte provided refreshments for all attendees.
The next Black Business Expo is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2026.
Additional events hosted by Ocean View Missionary Baptist Association Young Adult Department include an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Brunch on the third Monday in January and a biennially Community Resource Expo in November.
Ocean View was established in 1915 and currently consists of 10 churches that work to spread the word of God in a manner that will impact local and global communities. Ocean View Missionary Baptist Association Young Adult Department seeks to achieve this mission by hosting events that cater to the current needs of the local and global community. New ideas are always welcome.
