Black-Owned Businesses in Tallahassee Exceed National Average

Blille, Florida, is one of the top 15 top 15 cities with the highest rating of black business.


New research believes that Talahas, Florida, is twice as much Black businesses compared to to the national average.

A responsible research The Leon County ranks at the highest and lowest number of US owners in Talesen, at the top 15, at the top 15, with a percentage of black business. Discoveries suggest local economic developers to support and launch new ways to study and operate.

“We found out that 7% of business in Tales is black, and that the taler has 14th connection between the 50 largest metro in the country,” Matt Schultz, Credit Tree Analyst, said WfsuA number

The study found that 549 or 7% of the teenage 7,828 businesses, double-doubled, doubling national average. Capital Chamber Chamber of Commerce Katrina Kugerson sees the study as a sign of positive progress, and he has loans to play a significant role in Florida A & M.

“It’s the largest black business in Florida province. So if you look at what falls in the community, which is in the family, it can’t be nothing more than greatness. ” said WctvA number

However, despite the interest, the numbers still lack the black population of Leon region.

“When you oppose the fact that about 32% of the city’s population is black, there is a place to grow,” Schultz said.

Daril Jones, which controls the minority, and small business plans at the Leon District Economic Viability, stressed that the community offers wealth Resources to support business growthAlthough there is still progress, the Oeh is happy to see the local black business numbers that move in the right direction.

“Resource partners, such as Famu Small Business Development Center, Domi Station, Jim Mortan’s Institute,” said Jones. “And then you have loan partners, such as Famu Federal Credit Union and a smart-step loan program.”
