According to this latest lawsuit, other women are suing the athlete for allegedly targeting and spreading the disease to single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans.
A former NFL player is being sued in New York by a woman who claims he intentionally infected her and others with an incurable sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Eric Molds, who played for ten seasons with the Buffalo Bills, allegedly dated the unnamed plaintiff in January 2023. According to her complaint, she met him through Instagram. During their exchange that began on the social media platform, the three-time Pro Bowler offered to fly her on an “all-expenses-paid trip” to visit him in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She accepted the offer, traveling to the state where she had sex with the athlete. The duo continued to be intimate that year until November. according to Law and crime.
However, unknowingly, Molds carries the Herpes Simplex virus type 2. STDs can be treated, but once diagnosed, remain incurable.
She learned of his status after her fiancé, eight years pregnant, approached her that December.The woman encouraged the plaintiff to get tested because she had been told that Molds had infected other women in the past, including herself.
The plaintiff claims he was also unaware of Moulds’ engagement, but he took the woman’s advice and later tested positive for the virus.
The plaintiff has also previously filed lawsuits against Molds, with other women suing the athlete for allegedly targeting single mothers who were Buffalo Bill fans, spreading the disease to the women he fell in love with.
“The Plaintiff then learned that the Defendant had contacted numerous women in addition to the Plaintiff through social media. Based on information and belief, the Defendant targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York,” the lawsuit detailed.
The lawsuit also alleges that Molds paid the other women to keep quiet about the matter by signing a non-disclosure agreement.The plaintiff also alleges that Molds tried the same tactic with her.
Now, the plaintiff is suing for negligence and deliberate reasons cause of action, nondisclosure and emotional distress.Molds’ attorney, Frank LoTempio III, released a brief statement saying he intends to defend his client against the allegations.
“We are in the process of gathering information and responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend. After the start of the judicial process, I will have additional information and comments,” said the lawyer.
