A Alabama A&M University The student has made history as his Graduate larger by 2024.
In December, Allen Brooks won a degree in Liberal Studies with a rally in business management. The 60 -year -old girl finally decided to work to get the university degree after her mother’s death, Sarah Pearl.
For years, he had pledged to finish college. After a failed attempt by Alabama A&M in 1986 on a partial band scholarship, he returned to school in 2020.
“I only committed to the band and allowed myself to make bad notes here and not notes,” Brooks told Good Morning America. “But after a while, I reached a point where I had to leave school. Things (they arrived) and then had to have a real job to give me support.”
His mother encouraged him to come up with school over the years, which pushed him to look for it.
“Years later, my mother would always say,” I would like you to go back to school one day. “And I said,” Mother, one day, I will do, “said Brooks.
In addition to maintaining good grades, he had to work full time to support his family.
“It was hard. The (were) classes (they were). He still worked eight hours a day and went to school, but it was worth it, “he said.
