Is ‘Saw XI’ Canceled? Here’s What To Know About The Film’s Status

Next Saw movie, Saw xiwas originally predicted for a theatrical launch of the fall of 2025. However, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe film faces major pre -production problems. Sources tell the movie that the film has had “zero progress” since writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan presented a draft in the spring of 2024.

The creative team speaks

Said Melton The Hollywood Reporter That the withholding is not due to him or to Dunstan, but to internal conflicts in LionsGate and the production team.

“We have not heard anything since May,” he said. “It is stopped at the managerial level. It has nothing to do with creativity or anything else. There are higher -level things at stake. The reason (the movie is) is … there are between producers and lionsgate. They cannot reach the same page.”

A “timely” story that awaits the green light, says the writer

If the movie ends up doing -in the cinemas, it would be one of the Saw The films that address a “timely subject”, according to the article. However, details of the plot were not published.

“He saw that XI can be done or not, but we have a very timely story and I hope it is done only for it,” said Melton.

“It is used in the same issues of Saw viWhere you are a citizen, you feel angry and frustrated with something, you feel you can’t do anything, and John Kramer will do it, “he added.

The latest film of the franchise, 2023 Saw xHe starred in Tobin Bell, who performed the John Kramer serial killer throughout the series. The film also featured Michael Beach, Shawne Smith, Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Renata Vaca, Joshua Okamoto, Paulette Hernandez, Octavio Hinojosa, Jorge Briseño and Costas Mandylor.

In Saw xJohn travels to Mexico for an experimental procedure that hopes to cure his cancer. However, he soon discovers that the procedure is part of a scam aimed at desperate patients.
