Jonathan Capehart And Eugene Daniels Will Be MSNBC’s First Openly Gay Black Men To Co-Host A Program

Jonathan Capehart and Eugene Daniels They are breaking barriers to MSNBC after being touched as the first black men openly gay in the network in Co-Amfiptrió next to Jacqueline Alemany for their new cable news program. In early March, Daniels shared the exciting news on an Instagram post while offering his new position as a Washington senior correspondent for MSNBC’s news meeting team. He also acknowledged Symone Sanders, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez, the first co-amrions of the series.

“Some truly exciting news: I will join MSNBC as a” The Weekend “co-amfitrio, and will also join his new news team as a Washington Senior Correspondent,” Daniels wrote in a March 3 post.

He continued: “I am excited and nervous and all the feelings, but the most important thing is honored that I get to pick up the helm of the fabulous @symonedsanders, @chairMan_steele and @aliciamendendendezxo.”

Capehart also shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of himself and his new shopping companions, Daniels and German.

“We are official! I can’t wait to start at @theweekendmsnbc this spring, “he wrote in the post.

Capehart has had a long career in journalism. In 1999, he won a Pulitzer Award as part of the New York Daily News team to cover the Financial Management of the Harlem Apollo Theater, according to Carleton Collegewhere he graduated in 1989.

He is also a publisher associated with the Washington Post and a contributor to PBS’s Newshour. According to GLAAD, the planned memory of Capehart, But here I am: Lessons in the search of a black man’s houseIt will be published by the end of this year.

MSNBC aims to increase vision as an independent network

Danels joined MSNBC in 2021 and has since served as one of the most confident guests’ political and host analysts in Washington. He also served as a book of games and a white -house correspondent in Politico, reported Glaad.

MSNBCThe transition occurs after deciding to operate as an independent news network, reducing links with the Matrix NBCuniversal. The network aims to increase vision after a decrease compared to the previous year.

According to AdweekMSNBC recorded a 16% decrease in the total view of time and a fall of 9% of the demographic key. For the total vision of the day, the network dropped 25% total and 21% in the demonstration compared to 2024.
