North Carolina State University He has announced that Kevin Keatts will not return as the main coach of the men’s basketball next season. Keatts, who led the NC State Wolfpack in Final Four last season, has not replicated this success this year. With a classification turnover last season, NC State finished 12-19 and lost the conference tournament, Sph reported.
In eight seasons, Keatts gathered a global record of 151-113, including a 69-84 mark on the ACC, by USA. Wolfpack made a Cinderella last season, driving Duke in the Regional Final before moving to Final Four as a number 11 seed. However, after fighting this season, Keatts comes out with a purchase of $ 7.8 million.
“I want to thank coach Keatts for their contributions to NC State and for always representing the class with a class,” said Director Atlético Boo Corigan in a statement, USA Today. “He will always have a daring place in Wolfpack’s story for his workforce 2023-24, and I am grateful for the passion he contributed to this role. We wish the best in the future and his family.”
Keatts also left a message to X (before Twitter), saying: “The last eight years have been a dream come true.” He said that the program was under NCAA’s investigation when he took over, but that culture has changed since.
“I am extremely proud of what we have achieved over my time here,” Keatts wrote. “As we enter this new age of college sports, I think of all my heart that I leave the program in a better position to succeed than when I started, and that the basketball program will continue to prosper when it supports the level needed to compete.”
According to ESPN, Ryan ODOM by VCU and McNeese’s Will Wade are two potential candidates for replacing Keatts to the NC State.
