In celebration of New York CityThe deeply rooted tattoo culture, the Adidas athletic brand has joined Sniker Snipes to release Adidas NYC superstar. The new shoe has a palette red, black and green, a glance at the vibrant history of the city of tattoos.
The New York tattoo culture dates from the 19th century. The New York Times Reports that sailors introduced the tattoo into the city, using hand needles to create designs as they spent time at sea. The first tattoos room in the city was opened in Manhattan in 1870, helping to establish New York as a center for individuality and self -expression.
To pay tribute to this legacy, the Adidas NYC superstar incorporates several city -inspired design elements. In addition to its daring color scheme, the shoe presents engraved patterns reminiscent of the Calcomanias of the Hudson River and the “Great Apple” on the tongue and the heel of the left shoe.
Beyond footwear, Adidas and Snipes have joined with the Brooklyn Brooklyn Memorial Tattoos to support current tattoos artists. As part of this initiative, the young creatives of the East Coast Social Club had the opportunity to network with the shop team, who shared their personal trips and offered guidance on navigation through the tattoo industry. The participants also received a custom kit of art Adidas to explore their passion for tattoo.
Adidas NYC Superstar will be available in limited amounts online and in select Snipes stores. Sold for $ 110.
