Stanley has recalled 2.6 million popular travel mugs in the U.S. after dozens reported loose lids causing burn injuries.
The Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs, two of the company’s best products, have been recalled, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission in a statement on Thursday.
Multiple injuries reported in the US
Stanley has received 91 reports worldwide, including 16 in the United States, of lids coming off during use, resulting in 38 burn injuries worldwide, including two injuries in the United States, CPSC said .
The recall includes 12oz, 16oz and 20oz. sizes with polypropylene lid. Despite being double-walled, the lids can shrink when exposed to heat or pressure, causing them to come off and cause a burn hazard.
Stanley speaks after the memory
