Atlanta Turbo duo and Gunna They return with a hymn for women just in time for the Sundress season.
Known for collaborating on hits such as “Drip Too Hard”, “Bread & Butter”, “Richard Millie Plan”, “Bottom” and others, Turbo says that he and Gunna are essentially living in the studio.
Making music has always heard the second nature of the producer and, for his last song, “Classy Girl”, with his Georgian music companion, the feeling is the same.
“Me and Gunna, we sleep in the studio for the most part,” Turbo told Blavity before the new single launch. He shared that his 30th anniversary last year marked the first time the duo had gone on vacation to celebrate it. Gunna called him early in the morning of his birthday and reflected on life.
As it chopped it with Turks and Caicos beach and waves as a backdrop, the rest was history.
He recalled: “Before arriving, it was a few rhythms for, like, Justin Bieber. … I played this rhythm, you know, and Gunna only reacted.”
Turbo said they started to freesty, catch an atmosphere and do their things, especially with the stage.
“We have played it maybe 20 times ago, you know? And as if people woke up, listen to it and only give us comments.”
He added: “It was just an atmosphere and it only joined. … we have been to want to celebrate women, so this was like the perfect one for, you know? He warms up. … It only made sense.”
What exactly is a “elegant girl?”
According to the producer success, he said he grew up around many women who considers elegant, such as his grandmother, sisters, aunts and cousins, the number 1 quality of a “elegant girl” is the confidence and a clear view of what he wants outside his life.
“They are certain women who come to the room, it does not matter if they seem to pulses, they have a certain behavior about themselves. … and it only speaks of volumes, without even saying anything,” said Turbo.
Although it is known that he collaborates with the hottest names in music and helps them to make his ideas, the song “Girl Classy Girl” reflects his interest in launching a complete album.
As Neo-Soul helped shape its sound as a producer
Turbo said he grew up strongly influenced by neo-altitude artists such as Floetry, Kem, The Late Angie Stone and many others. He has had a ear for music since childhood and his love of music has followed him in adulthood. This love plays a massive role in his work as a producer nominated for Grammy today.
“When I entered my teens, of course, as Atlanta influenced me.”
Turbo said Jeezy, Lil Jon and East Side Boyz and Ti
“All of these guys really like to influence grain, I guess, you know what I mean? Because it was a super musical to me. And I think it is really where I take my sound from, you know, as a mixture of these. Just as music was an important thing in my house. We always listened to music. Missy Elliott, as if I could move on, you know? … I think this You feel -you like when I was a child who appeared on the CDs, how will I expect? “”
By denying to be entangled as a producer
While preparing to launch his first complete album, Turbo says he waits for the unexpected. He is determined to make music that is the time test. There is no limitations where the sounds of life can be taken and it is not afraid to go out of the box because it does not feel like fitting in one mold or subscribing to any restrictions that others want to put.
“Now he meets more than ever,” he said about his next project. “Like trying not to be in a box, not being in a circle, do you know?”
Turbo said that he pretends to endure and affect.
“ I take advantage of it, if you know me to “ drip too much ” or if you know me about Gunna, I am Finna to Justin Bieber, you know what I mean? I am in Finna, you know, someone completely different, and will show you what sounds, you know, a turbo rhythm. … I just had to work with a feathered fee the other day, and so it was interesting, only to do it, We do in Atlanta or anything. “
“I think, the album, I focused a lot on it, making music timeless and only where it is easy to hear,” he concluded. “It’s something you can hear with your mother. It’s something you can hear with your girls. It’s something you can hear with your children, anything that floats your boat; It’s music. Music is the soundtrack of your life. “”
Turbo’s last single with Gunna, “Classy Girl”, is now available on all streaming platforms.
