Today, on Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.’s 118th Founders’ Day, fraternity members who serve on Capitol Hill and work in politics and government came together for a special photo shoot to celebrate their fraternity and the organization’s lasting legacy.
The group included prominent lawmakers such as Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Virginia), Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Missouri), Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), Rep. Stephen Horsford (D-Nevada), and Rep. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Their gathering highlighted the Fraternity’s commitment to leadership and public service, a tradition that has shaped generations since its founding in 1906.
While these photos capture the presence of many notable figures on Capitol Hill, the fraternity’s influence extends even further, with additional members of Congress such as Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.), Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), and Rep. David Scott (D-GA) who were not present for the photo op.
