Omega Psi Phi Brother and Morehouse Alumnus Dr. F. DuBois Bowman Named 13th President of Morehouse College

After a large -scale national research, Morehaus College announced that its own is its own. F. Dubuis Bowman, graduate of 1992 and a proud brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – He will be the thirteenth president of the institution.

Dr. Bowman, in 1991 to buy the Psi Psi Psi branch at Morehouse College, is the famous public health leader at the national level and biologists. He will take over the role on July 15, 2025, after the end of President David A. Thomas in June.

Dr. Bowman is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at the University of Michigan, holding a collective professor at Roderick J. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a colleague of both the American Statistical Association and the American Association for Science.

“Dr. Bowman recorded the leadership of insight, his deep commitment to academic excellence, and his lifelong dedication to Musthus. The official announcement. “It brings an unusual mix of intellectual rigor, strategic thinking and values ​​-based leadership.”

Dr. Bowman’s academic work focused on the statistical analysis of complex data to better understand neurological and mental health disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and schizophrenia. His research helped to provide more specialized therapeutic methods and explore how environmental factors affect the brain function in young people.

As a dean in Michigan, he led a higher -rated school of more than 1,300 students and a research portfolio exceeding $ 100 million annually. His term was characterized by initiatives that address health stocks, infectious diseases, and the prevention of firearms infection, also focusing on inclusion and cooperation through disciplines.

In addition to his brothers and academic affiliations, Dr. Bowman is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He has maintained close relationships with Morehouse throughout his career, directing students and creating a pipeline for the University of Michigan for university students from Morehouse and Spelman. In 2019, he received the Bennie Trailblazer Award, the highest honor of graduates in the college.

Dr. Bowman said in advertisement. “This institution has formed from me – in the commitment of excellence, justice and influence. I am enthusiastic about partnership with faculty, employees, students, graduates and supporters to build on our heritage and write the next semester of the transformational Morehouse story.”

His appointment comes in the wake of the recent Moorehouse’s recognition as a college, a university research (RCU), the College of Opportunities and the University (OCU) in Carnegie’s 2025 classifications – which provides its growing academic imprint and its permanent mission to serve the actress students an incomplete representation.

Before his leadership in Michigan, Dr. Buman occupied academic and administrative positions at Columbia University and Emory University. He obtained a master’s degree in biological statistics from Michigan University and a PhD in Biomedic Statistics from North Carolina University in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Bowman is married to Cenathia Bowman, a graduate of the Sablman College, Georgia Tech, and the University of North Western. They have four children, among them more men of men – one of them is a graduate of 2024 and one is currently registered.
