Taking place February 14-16, 2025 in Washington, D.C., the event promises to bring together the best step bands in the country, honoring the Divine Nine’s traditional roots while showcasing the dynamic evolution of this art form.
Step Africa! He spent three decades traveling the world preserving and developing the art form of walking. Now, with Step Classic, Step Afrika! Stepping to new heights. Unlike traditional step competitions, Step Classic is a celebration of the energy, creativity and precision that defines stepping as one of the most exciting performing arts forms in the world today.
“I’m excited to host Africa’s first-ever STEP! Classic Step. Steps is more than just a movement, it’s a culture, a community, and an immediate force. The Step Classic Step Show – the centerpiece of the weekend – will be held at Sunday, February 16 at 6 p.m At the historic Warner Theater in downtown Washington, DC. Featuring performances from the best step teams in the country, this event will highlight art, sports and unity in an exciting showcase of step excellence.
Weekend schedule In addition to the grand finale, the weekend will include several community-focused events:
- Friday 14 February: A welcome reception to start the celebrations.
- Saturday 15 February: Step Africa! Community Day, featuring music, a touring fair and activities for all ages.
- Sunday 16 February: Step Africa! The Step Show at the Warner Theater.
Destination DC joins as a promotional partner, highlighting Washington, D.C., as the ideal host city for this massive cultural event.
