Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. announced Today it has become the first women’s organization in the National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) to collaborate with Hazard Prevention Network (HPN). This collaboration underscores Zeta Phi Beta’s long-standing commitment to eliminating harassment and promoting safe and inclusive environments for its members.
The Harassment Prevention Network, a national nonprofit formerly known as HazingPrevention.Org, focuses on educating individuals about the dangers of harassment, advocating for change, and engaging communities in prevention strategies. The organization’s mission aligns closely with Zeta Phi Beta’s own efforts to ensure a safe membership admissions process.
“I am honored to elevate Zeta’s anti-pledge and anti-jamming efforts and demonstrate our commitment to a safe admissions process for new members,” said Jenna Merritt-Epps, Esq., Zeta’s Senior Vice President of International Membership Affairs. “This partnership complements our existing initiatives, including our organization’s risk management certification, membership acceptance certification and new member education process, and the launch of new formal anti-hazing curricula and certifications.”
Dr. Stacey N. C. Grant, President and International CEO of Zeta Phi Beta, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing our sorority’s leadership in the fight against hazing. “I am proud of Zeta’s pioneering efforts to eliminate pledges and harassment,” she said. “Our More Efficient Women Don’t Fog programs, internal structure and innovative methods to ensure safety and sustainability make Zeta an industry leader, setting the standard for an action-oriented approach with tangible results.”
The partnership represents an important step forward in prevention efforts within NPHC and beyond, strengthening Zeta Phi Beta’s commitment to promoting safe and supportive environments for its members.
