Ashanti and Nelly raise the ball with a spicy performance
The couple and their guests traveled to Nelly’s hometown of St. Louis for the charity event. This year will be the proceeds of the deluxe gathering according to information benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation and Harris-Stowe State University Scholarships.
Ashanti and Nelly went viral last month their joint performance at his 50th birthday celebration. The couple put on their holiday best over the weekend, with the new mum looking stunning in a shimmering full-length dress with long sleeves, while papa Nelly appeared in an all-black tuxedo and slim-rimmed glasses.
At one point on the mic, Ashanti started to sing her iconic song ‘Baby’, but changed the lyrics to say, “We made a baby, baby, baby, baby.” And Nelly joined in on background vocals and ad-libs. They sang the lyrics, even butted their heads at one point. They danced, laughed, and seemed happily in love.

As always, the rapper’s hometown event had several iconic hip-hop producers in the building, from Bow Wow to Jermaine Dupree and Ne-Yo, all of whom took the stage, but there were also celebrities in the audience, from hitmaker Brian Michael-Cox to Metro Boomin: The producer is also an STL native.
Speaking of natives, at the annual ball, Nelly & The St. The Lunatics received the key to the city of St. Louis. “Yeah, that’s right, it’s heavy too.” These were Nellie’s first words after winning the trophy.
