By: News 5 ClevelandMewty was found dead outside the Avenue Care and Rehabilitation Center in Warrensville around 7:30 a.m. The last time Mewty was allegedly seen by staff at the facility was on Dec. 23, according to Warrensville Heights police. at 20:40.
The nurse who last saw Meuti reportedly told police that the 84-year-old woman “seemed normal and was talking in her wheelchair.”
Meuti was then reportedly given a second appointment, but at around 9.30pm a nurse discovered the 84-year-old woman was “not in her room”.
According to the report, the second nurse assumed that Meuti had gone to visit with his brother. However, the facility’s visitor log did not show that Meuti’s brother had picked him up. Moreover, the second nurse allegedly did not inform his colleagues about the 84-year-old’s absence.

Around 12:30 p.m., the nurse several times pretends to be Meuti’s brother. However, he did not answer.
“…she is a new nurse…and wasn’t sure what to do next,” the police report said. News 5 Cleveland.
At around 6:30 a.m., a nurse finally reported a Meuti employee missing, a “code purple” was issued, a sweep of the building was conducted, and the police were notified. After an officer arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses found Meuti outside the facility “lying on his back.”
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, the 84-year-old man’s cause of death was listed as “environmental exposure to hypothermia.” Police are reportedly investigating Meuti’s death and how he ended up outside the facility despite needing assistance to walk.
