This is what happened to the 80-year-old grandmother with the bed in her sleeping room.
Agreed Daily Mail:On March 1, 2023, Walker found himself pinned between his bed and the bedroom wall. The Sleep Number bed reportedly “went down without warning.”
On March 3, 2023, emergency workers were able to free Walker from the bed. Then he was taken to the hospital. By: New York PostWalker was “treated for unspecified injuries” and then taken to a rehabilitation clinic. Eventually, the 80-year-old woman ended up in hospice care at her home.
Then on April 3, 2023, Walker died.
Here’s what Rosalind Walker’s family is demanding in the lawsuit
Agreed Daily Mail:Angela Moan, Walker’s daughter, filed a lawsuit against Sleep Number and its manufacturer Leggett & Platt. Moan claims her mother “suffered the whole time” before her death.
In addition, Moan is seeking compensation for her mother’s injuries and “more than $25,000 in medical bills.”
The lawsuit reportedly alleges that Sleep Number “designed and sold a bed that did not have adequate instructions or warning language warning Ms. Walker not to go between the bed and the wall because she could become trapped.” Additionally , the lawsuit alleges that the Sleep Number bed “did not have an adequate release mechanism that would have allowed Ms. Walker to release herself.”
“This negligence was the proximate cause of Ms. Walker’s injuries, suffering, and death,” the lawsuit states.
Per: Daily Mail:A company spokeswoman said it “will not comment on pending litigation.” New York Post published a quote from the quoted speaker saying:
“The lawsuit alleges that a faulty adjustable base purchased in 2014 was a contributing factor in Rosalind Walker’s death. We understand this incident allegedly occurred in March 2023; We were made aware of the alleged incident yesterday, December 10, after the lawsuit was filed.We offer our sincere condolences to Ms. Walker’s family for their tragic loss.”
