Kentucky State University, a historically Black institution in Frankfort, recently partnered with Elizabethtown Community and Technical College to advance nursing education in Kentucky.
Students who graduate from ECTC’s nursing program now have the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Kentucky State University through the ECTC-2-KSU Pathway Scholarship. The program will provide tuition-free undergraduate education to students eligible for a federal Pell grant. Participating students will enroll at Kentucky State University and receive services on the ECTC campus, giving them access to community college nursing labs and student resources.
“We are thrilled to begin this new partnership with ECTC to train the next generation of nurses to serve the Commonwealth,” said Kentucky State University President Koffi C. Akakpo. “Creating a pathway for ECTC nursing graduates to seamlessly transition into KSU’s BSN program is just the beginning.”
