HBCU News – Morehouse Graduate Opens A Bookstore To Empower A Georgia Community On Their Wellness Journey

A Morehouse Medical School graduate opened a bookstore to uplift the community around her.

According to the report, Dr. who is a Master of Science in Biomedical Research and a Doctor of Philosophy. Viola Lanier in Biomedical Sciences 2300 Shallowford Rd., Ste. 8, Marietta, GA 30066.

“I wasn’t too impressed with the situation, but I said, ‘You know what?’ This is the place.” But even though I doubted a lot, I thought I could do it. I understood. Anyway, we mark these dreams. Stay with me while I fix it,” he explained in the video.

Seeing the potential, Lanier’s curiosity led him to create his own bookstore, with a grand opening on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

“Since childhood, I love to read everything I can get my hands on. Books gave me an insight into parts of the world I had yet to see,” Dr. Lanier said in a news release. “Books helped me see what was possible for my life, and from there I could create the world I wanted around me.”

In the bookstore, readers can find classic novels, biographies and the best fiction books in various categories.

“I am the curator of our book collection. You’ll find brand new titles and classic bestsellers, but I also introduce our readers to authors they may not be familiar with. We also feature a number of local authors,” Lanier noted.

The bookstore will also have a snack and beverage area, a bookmark-making station, a children’s reading room, and wellness products such as scented candles and essential oils.

Our reading choices promote your emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, financial, social, cultural and professional well-being. And we want to build a community of good and better people,” reads the caption on the bookstore’s Instagram page.
