Alisha Wilson grabbed her 1,000th career rebound and Kalia Walker scored a career-high 30 points as Alabama A&M topped in-state foe North Alabama 80-77 on Tuesday night.
The win also marked the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Lions in Florence, and AAMU remains undefeated on the road.
AAMU first-year head coach Dawn Thornton reported the hot start as the best in Bulldogs history.

The contest saw three Bulldogs in double figures. In addition to Walker’s 30 points, senior guard Darian Burgin scored a season-high 15 points and added four rebounds and two steals.
Defensively, Jaiyah Harris-Smith paced the Bulldogs with nine rebounds. Mailyn Wilkerson was the third Bulldog in double figures as she added 11 points during the contest.
Four North Alabama players scored at least 10 points, led by Charity Gallegos with 13 points and nine assists. Emma Kate Tittle scored 13 points, while Sarang West and Alyssa Clutter each had 10 points.
Alabama A&M shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the field and 69.7 percent (23-of-33) from the free throw line.
