Former Jackson State athlete Travis Hunter received college football’s most coveted individual award this past weekend, and the Tigers are hoping a family member will follow in his footsteps and join the HBCU ranks.
Trayvis Hunter, a sophomore at Effingham County High School in Georgia, announced yesterday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he has received an offer from Jackson State.

Travis Hunter was named the Southwest Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in 2022 and helped Jackson State win its second straight SWAC title under Deion Sanders before moving to Colorado with Sanders. Hunter won the Heisman after passing for more than 1,000 yards, a reception on offense and four interceptions on defense.
