Nearly a week after retired NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater led Miami Northwestern High School state championship In his first season as a coach, he is expected to show interest from other places.
And there have been HBCUs with coaching vacancies elsewhere.
Bridgewater, who played nine seasons in the NFL for seven different teams, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that an undisclosed HBCU had contacted him for an interview.

“A new HBCU contacted me today for an interview and several NFL teams have also offered coaching jobs. It’s a cool process, no lie,” Bridgewater wrote.
The announcement comes just days after Norfolk State hired former NFL Pro Bowler Michael Vick as head coach.
Current openings for head football Coaches at HBCUs include Prairie View A&M, Mississippi Valley State, Alabama A&M, Delaware State, Lane College, Fort Valley State and Shaw.
