The Norfolk State women’s basketball team was ranked 11th in the latest rankings College Insider’s Mid Major Women’s Basketball Top 25 poll this season.
In its 15th season, the mid-major poll recognizes the top teams in the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-East , Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, South, Southland, Southwest, Summit, Sunbelt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

NSU received the No. 11 seed after a 75-66 win over St. Louis on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Washington.
Norfolk State is the only HBCU featured in this week’s poll.
The Spartans will return to battle Shaw on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. at Echols Hall.
