Lincoln University (PA) capped off an impressive showing with a thrilling event 78-70 win over Kentucky State University to claim Chris Paul HBCU Challenge championship.
The Lions showcased their depth and toughness to secure the tournament title at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Senior Reggie Hudson led the way with a stellar all-around performance, recording 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists, shooting an efficient 8-of-16 from the field.
Senior Ethan Garita continued his dominant play with a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Virgin Cleveland finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds and a clutch 3-pointer in the win.
Lincoln took a 45-29 halftime lead behind 50% shooting and 7 three-pointers.
Although Kentucky State made a late second-half push, the Lions’ defense held firm, forcing 17 turnovers and turning them into 21 points.
With the win, the Lions improved to 7-5 overall and are undefeated at 2-0 in CIAA play.
