After the participation of about 35 years in the South Heritage Classic, Tennessee continues.
Temporary University President Dr. Downer Tucker’s Memphisi area TSU Alums told TSU Alums that the contract offered by Fred Jones was not money for the Tiger football program to continue playing in the game.
“I think most people understand that TSU is financial issues” Tucker told Memphis-based television station to WMC. “Walking to play an event that is not financially in our best interests, we have to make ourselves and make ourselves; proposed payment – this is not a good financial return for Tennessee province. But we would like to go back.”

Jones Tennessee offered a $ 400,000 contract to continue in the South Heritage Classic, which began in the 1990s in the 1990s. The game was good in the 2022 season and the annual competitive battle between the state of Tennessee and the condition of Jackson. In 2023 and 2024, Arkansas-Pine Bluff was signed for two SHC games, and this agreement has ended.
As this story is published, there are no reports of any changes or substitutes of the 2025 South Heritage Classic.
