Travis Hunter has made waves across the county this season the best two-way player in college football.
So if the Colorado wide receiver/cornerback takes home the coveted Heisman Trophy, he plans to show love to where he started.
“I started at Jackson State,” Hunter said during Friday’s media conference. “I have to thank them for letting me get in there and do what I do and for accepting me when I leave.”

Hunter, along with Shedeur Sanders and several other players recruited to Jackson by former coach Deion Sanders, led the Tigers to back-to-back SWAC championships and Celebration Bowl appearances.

Hunter was named the 2022 SWAC Freshman of the Year and scored two receiving touchdowns in the Celebration Bowl against North Carolina Central. He totaled five touchdowns that season — four as a wide receiver and one as a quarterback.
“Jackson State still claims me after I’m gone, so I’ll definitely respect them.”
