Bradley Cooper opened up about making A Star Is Born and pitching Beyoncé at her home while Jay-Z watched Judge Judy.

Recently the SAG-AFTRA Foundation sat down with actor Bradley Cooper to discuss his successful career and take a walk down memory lane. These conversations are common and happen in hopes of helping the stars of tomorrow and giving them motivation. During the conversation, Cooper opened up about making his box office success A Star Is Born.

According to Complex, he detailed recruiting Beyoncé to play Esther Blodgett and his visit to her home.

As you can expect he was nervous about meeting royalty and recalled Jay-Z being present watching Judge Judy.

“I went to Beyoncé’s house and Jay-Z was watching Judge Judy, I still remember. I’m not kidding. And I was freaking [out],” Cooper explained at around the 43:20 minute mark in the video below. “She was incredible and so was he, and we developed it for like a year together. I mean, she’s one of the greatest people of all time. Then that fell through.”

Another interesting fact he revealed was Greg Silverman telling him he’d make the film on two conditions. Keep in mind these conditions were given fresh off his success in American Sniper.

“‘If you can make it for under $25 million and you can get Beyoncé, I’ll do it.’” – Silverman told Cooper when he pitched A Star Is Born

The stipulations were huge but Bradley nearly got it done. Unfortunately, Queen Bey would become pregnant and unable to play the leading lady. It was later revealed he attempted to get Adele to replace Beyoncé before ultimately landing Lady Gaga.

Learning Jay-Z loves Judge Judy is a fun fact only Bradly Cooper would know and deliver to the world.
