In an attempt to shed light on people who lead colleges and universities throughout the country, we got to the yard to the State of Boy State and had an interview with Tira Parker, President of the Student Government Association 2024-2025.
The position of SGA president is a great respect, and there is a special pride in their election by their peers to lead. Parker, who specializes in criminal justice, from Baltimore and is a pride in the spring of 2023 from the Sigma Theta Delta of Sorery, Inc.

We met Tira Parker and talked to her about her position, goals, future, and what it means to occupy this type of leadership in 2024-2025.
Read the full interview below.
What is the biggest thing you learned as SGA president so far?
As president of the Student Government Association, you have learned that you should never allow not to stop your battle. There will be several times where people will not see your vision, and they have different opinions. When you serve your student body, you must have the will and design not to stop until the best result is possible for your students. You may get 1000 no, but the person who gives you yes may be the best choice. This is something I learned to be the president of the Student Government Association.
What made you decide to attend the Bawa State University for university students?
Boy State University chose me! The moment I walked to the campus, I lit my feet, and I knew I was at home. My father and my sister had attended the state of Boy, and I knew that their owners were the place where I had to be. I was looking at other schools at the time, but no other school felt as Boy did. I never regretted it in my life.

How did the Boah State University formed you in the person you are today?
Bowie State gave me the ability to seek help whenever I needed her. I have always struggled with help and help. I felt I could always do things on my own, and that always caused me to burn. Bowie State taught me to ask for help early and in time to be equipped with all tools to succeed. You are unable to do anything alone in this life, and you will need help at some point in your life. So it is okay to seek help!

What are the specific initiatives that you went to this year (or planning), and how do you think it will improve the school and the surrounding community?
We are trying to continue the future of falling in the state of Bawi. We are also trying to make sure that we are building better morale on our university campus. When the morale is high, students love students. Finally, we are trying to build a permanent communication with our graduates and create an environment where our students want to be active with the university once graduated.
How does your SGA management/school currently attend the mental health of students?
The Hope administration in Bowie State has made many opportunities for our students to cancel pressure and focus on their mental health. For example, after a day of elections, we hosted a day of mental health called modernization and thinking. We had yoga, vocal baths, drawing, and some carnival activities for the students ’body to engage in. We noticed that our students felt defeat after the elections, so we had the opportunity to increase their morale. We also give our students opportunities to issue their mental and emotional conflicts in the student body forums every month.

What does driving mean to you?
Driving means leading the heart, focusing on not out but in the way of what is happening. Driving is able to get yourself out of the equation and find a solution for everyone who serves.
We are now living in a digital world, what do you think of schools that you should do to represent themselves online in 2025?
Schools need to find ways to meet students where they are. The past methods will not be able to obtain the same participation and the status they are accustomed to. By moving to new directions, finding new ways to engage and establish ways to participate in students will help in the school and the student’s body better. All this can be done and still is a professional and respected entity online.
Why do you think watching the courtyard is important for black students and the culture of the kidney?
Watch It also explains to the world how privacy of both things. Our culture and universities have many talents and things that you offer to the world, and we get a chance to display it via Watch The Synd.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I plan to join a master’s degree in criminal psychology from John Jae College of Criminal Justice in New York. I also plan for a profession as a professional in juvenile justice.
We would like to praise Tira Parker for her work as head of the Boys State University in SGA.
