CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Chelsea Rice owns several different restaurants in Northeast Ohio, making her one of the most accomplished Black business owners in Cuyahoga County.
“Life comes at you fast and I am just so honored to be able to have the opportunity to create more avenues of growth,” says Rice.
One of the restaurants she owns, STEAK, is new to the scene in Tremont.
STEAK is a modern steakhouse with a wide range of menu options.
Rice says one of her favorite parts about owning this local eatery, is the space she creates for people who look like her.
“I just love being in hospitality. I have been in the industry my entire life. I am very passionate about the people piece but also the ability to bring new and exciting concepts to Cleveland,” says Rice.
Rice not only owns STEAK, but she also owns Geraci’s Slice Shop, Lionheart Coffee, Sushi, and more.
“Cleveland is so deserving and this area is so ripe with opportunity. You never know where life is going to take you and the fact it has brought us here and the fact that we have been able to accomplish so many things is remarkable,” says Rice.
Rice says her love for hospitality started at a young age when she worked the candy counter at her family’s business.
“Being from a family of foodies and entrepreneurs is just the natural progression of something that I learned to do as a little girl to do, to cook food. Just making people feel at home and the comradery it brings among friends,” says Rice.
With more restaurants on the way, like Dugout, the Ice Cream Stand, and Jolene’s Honky Tonk, Rice is excited to bring these new concepts to the city.
“It is not for the weak, but it is all apart of living is to be out creating experiences. Take a chance on yourself. Take a chance on Cleveland. Anything is possible if you just believe in yourself, stay true, stay strong, keep moving. Cleveland will be here for you,” says Rice.
