The Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce has named LeAnn White as its new executive director.
White, whose appointment was effective in November, replaces Sheila Dixon.
White has served in key financial services roles within the banking sector for over 20 years, according to a news release, which cited her multifaceted background in advocacy, business development and community engagement.
“I approach this position with a heart of service,” White said. “I am excited to provide effective programming and valuable resources to foster an environment of creativity that will lead to strategic partnerships and connections for our members.”
Samuel Wiggins, chair of the chamber, said the group looks forward to White’s perspective and initiatives.
“LeAnn’s proven track record and passion for advocating on behalf of Black-owned businesses make her an invaluable asset to our organization,” he added.
The Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce Inc. is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with the mission of empowering Black-owned businesses in Northern Virginia and promoting the region’s economic growth through education, advocacy, opportunities and resources.
