
The event brought many heartwarming moments to the honored participants.
Femme It Forward: hosted his Give Her Flowhers Gala at the Beverly Hilton on November 21, honoring Ciara, Kehlani and other influential women for their impact on the community through entertainment. Advertising panel reports.
The event, which celebrated the power of women and sisters, featured many heartwarming moments among the honorees.
One of the standout moments of the evening came from Teyana Taylor, who kicked off the gala by presenting her mother, Nicki Taylor, with The Queens Raising Queens Award. The younger Taylor, a multiple hyphenate and mother of two, thanked her mother for her role model.
“I am the mother I am today because you are the mother you choose to be,” she said.
Other honorees included Sylvia Rhone, former president of Epic Records, who accepted the Sylvia Rhone Legacy Award. Ravin Lena, who received The Fem Z Award, which recognizes Gen Z artists who are shaping the next generation; Gail Mitchell, Advertising panelR&B/Hip-Hop executive who was honored with the Mentor Excellence Award for his 26-year legacy of supporting artists and promoting inclusive storytelling in music media; and Mariah The Scientist, who won The Bloom Award for her artistic achievements and creative growth.
Jhene Aiko gave a heartfelt speech praising her mother, daughter and sisters who presented her with The Glow Getter Award. “This year they pulled me out of some really dark places,” he said. “They sat next to me when I couldn’t get out of bed.”
Kehlandy received the Alchemist Award from Bay Area colleague Goapele. Love island star Olandria Carten received the Self-Love Award, dedicating it to “any woman who has ever questioned her worth,” while Norman accepted The Femme It Forward Award Ryan from Destiny, emphasizing the importance of community in his career path.
“The Femme It Forward award fills me with immense gratitude because it speaks to humanity and who we are as people above all else,” she said. “Philanthropy is never the work of one individual, it is a collaborative effort built by communities, educators, friends, and anyone who believes that compassion is a force capable of real change.”
