Trey Holly for two touchdowns and Cam’ron McCoy threw a kickoff to Khalil Harris in the South quarter to defeat the annual Gravel situation 28-27 in the South quarter Bayou classic in surprising sadness on Saturday.
The Jaguars (2-10, 1-7, 1-7 SWAC) had a 7:15 lead until McCoy’s 34-yard touchdown pass to Harris in the first quarter. McCoy finished 6-of-18 at 18-over.
Gramling (7-5, 4-4) had a chance to claw back the lead, but kicker Josh McCormick missed a 43-yard field goal attempt after earlier combining from 52 and 39 yards.
The Tigers had a two-minute lead, but Andre Crews fumbled at the South 38-yard line, where Ckelby Givens fumbled with 32 seconds left for the gain.
South came out of a 14-0 quarter hole and broke free to make it 17-14 for a 51-yard touchdown at 51.

Crews responded with a short 3-yard run to Grambling before Hally’s second touchdown.
Remo, 100 meters, added 61 meters to Holly’s 18 attempts. Quarterback Hayden Benoit, Barron Miles Jr. and Keith Jones Jr. and passed for 16 for 187 yards with a touchdown to Keith Jones Jr., who also had one catch.
