Wyoming Game and Fish report a man was injured by a black bear on the North Fork of West Pass Creek in northern Sheridan County on the afternoon of June 22, 2024.  According to the department, the man was searching for shed antlers when he encountered a female black bear and two young-of-the-year cubs at close range. He was injured by the bear while climbing a nearby tree. After the bear left the area, he was able to get to a nearby ranch building and call for help.
