Several high school basketball teams in the Black Belt News Network’s viewing area were ranked by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
The rankings were released early Thursday morning.
In boys 5A basketball, Selma High School was nominated but didn’t make the top 10.
Hale County High School was ranked No. 1 in Class 4A with a record of 11-6. Wilcox Central (14-3) was ranked No. 10
In class 3A, Sumter (14-3) was ranked No. 1. Montgomery Academy (14-6) was nominated but did not make the Top 10.
In AISA schools, Wilcox Academy was ranked No. 7 with an 11-0 record. Lowndes Academy (12-3) was nominated but did not make the Top 10.
In girl’s basketball, Selma High School was ranked No. 6 in Class 5A with a 15-0 record.
In Division 4A, the Hale County (15-5) girls ranked No. 8.
In Division 3A, Trinity (15-4) of Montgomery was ranked No. 4, and Southside of Dallas County (11-3) was ranked No. 7.
Keith High School girls were ranked No. 9 in Division 1A. Keith boys were nominated but didn’t make the top 10.
Among AISA schools, Southern Academy (10-2) was ranked No. 6. Lowndes Academy was nominated but didn’t make the Top 10.
