The 1,600 square-foot store, at 1821 E. Broadway Boulevard, is set to open Oct. 15, according to a news release from the Portland-based company.
Black Rock offers premium roasted coffees, teas, smoothies and other flavorful drinks, according to the news release.
The Tucson store will offer both sit-down and drive-thru options and is styled in Black Rock’s signature industrial modern design with a garage door that can be opened or closed, depending on the weather.
The store is Black Rock’s 20th location in Arizona, with the rest in the Phoenix metro area.
“We are incredibly excited to bring our first Black Rock Coffee Bar to Tucson,” said Jeff Hernandez, the company’s co-founder and executive chairman, in the news release. “Arizona holds a special place in our hearts and we look forward to sharing our culture with the Tucson community. We are also happy to be in the vicinity of the University of Arizona, which is amazing.”
The Tucson store is about one mile from the university.
This year, Black Rock was named the fastest-growing private company in Portland, according to the release. Including the Tucson location, Black Rock now has 94 coffee bars in seven states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
The new location will employ approximately 25 people. Those who are interested can apply @blackrockaz on Instagram.
