ORANGE, CT — Police are advising residents that a black bear has been spotted in neighborhoods in Orange over the past couple of days.
Police said they have started receiving reports in the last two days of a black bear in the neighborhoods in the Derby Avenue area.
“Bear sightings are very common in Connecticut and we request that you only call us when there is a threat or an emergency associated with a bear,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Please do not feed nor approach the bear, they are only foraging for food. Keep your distance and respect all wildlife.”
