The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) is proud to announce the tremendous success of our Black History Month panel discussion, The History and Future of Black Political Influence in Newark and Beyond, held on Feb. 13 at the historic Newark Public Library. The event brought together an audience of community leaders, advocates, and residents for a powerful and thought-provoking conversation about the legacy and future of Black political leadership.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our esteemed panelists—James Gee, Shavar Jeffries, Jeannine LaRue, and Richard Roper—who shared their invaluable insights and experiences, shedding light on the impact of Black leadership in Newark and beyond. A special thank you to our incredible moderator, Dr. Sherri-Ann Butterfield, for expertly guiding the discussion and fostering meaningful dialogue.
